your self on the computer.
There are some files on your computer that can get
very over weighted after time and periodically will
need to be cleaned up in order to function at maximum
capacity.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The first step:
Delete Temporary Internet Files
Web page address's are stored in a
file called Temporary Internet Files, This is supposed
to capture pages you have visited while on the
internet and store those pages for faster loading if
you ever go back to one of those pages again.
Now that you have been surfing the internet for many
weeks, months or years and having never or rarely
performed this action, you could imagine how FULL and
slowed down your computer could get. This is a
Necessary regular maintenance step that should be
performed after heavy internet surfing and by the we
mean anything over 20 pages you have surfed for
several days.

The second step:
Deleting Offline Content
Offline content is much like the Temporary Internet
Files. The difference is that it stores pictures and
certain other files for faster loading that you have
viewed internally on the computer. This will slow down
your computer as well, and even cause Out Of Memory
errors down the road - Place a check in Offline
Content

The third step: Deleting Cookies
What are Cookies - Cookies are
little pieces of code that websites use to track you
and primarily to see when you are online. So in a
sense, it is a tracking device used to see when to
send you SPAM, Ads and so fourth. Most people Do Not
Want To Be Tracked and especially do not not want to
receive and junk mail or pop up ads. Cookies mostly
use active X controls that force them into your
computer. Cookies can lead to malicious files being
installed on your computer and this Cookies Folder
should be regularly cleaned out completely.

You are not deleting any important system files and
this process could take anywhere from a few seconds up
to 5 minutes, depending on how long its been since you
have last done this and the amount of websites that
you have visited.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The fourth step:
Clearing History
The purpose of the History file is
simply a method for you to track where you have been
while on the internet so you can reference back
through out the websites that you have visited and to
have a nice little shortcut to get back to where you
have been - later. This is used on Internet Explorer
and is not compatible with third party browsers like
AOL, MSN and Compuserve. As you could imagine, this
folder too, can get way over weighted and cause a
slower running performance as time goes on and more
and more website address's are accumulated. This
combination with this and the above mentioned
"Temporary Internet Files" can substantially slow you
down in performance.
